5 Days Desert Quad expedition Itinerary:
Day 1: Merzouga dunes - Erfoud - Rissani Oasis
We began a wonderful trip through the rolling sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, passing through the sandy Wadi, Tisserdmine Oasis, and the black desert before reaching the mountains. Our ride took us to Boutchrafin village, where we enjoyed a relaxing lunch break. In the afternoon, we followed the dusty trail to Rissani Oasis, stopping to admire the beautiful sunset over Jbel Medouar. As night settled in, we chose to camp under a sky filled with countless stars for our first night in the desert.
Day 02: Rissani Oasis - Afrdou - Tafraoute Sidi Ali.
On day 2, we leave Rissani Oasis and head toward Tafraoute Sidi Ali, traveling through the Afrdou mountain. Along the way, we pass by Acacia Valley, Bourika oasis, abandoned Kasbah of Oubahllou and the well-known Ghris Wadi, where the landscape changes beautifully, showcasing the unique charm of the desert.
After having lunch in Mhareh Oasis, we follow the trail towards Ahanou, passing through dry lake and stretches of deep sand on our way to Tafraoute.
Day 03: Tafraoute - Ramlia village - Ouzina Desert
After breakfast, we start our ride from Tafraoute Sidi Ali, passing through Ras Kamouna and crossing the well-known Ghris Wadi to reach Ramlia village. Here, we take a break to visit a small oasis, where locals cultivate their land, and enjoy a lunch prepared in a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we continue towards the Ouzina Desert, navigating through the Ramlia dunes, Jouijl Valley, Tabkhout Oasis, and Asguine dunes. As the sun begins to set, we arrive at our lodge in Ouzina.
This day combines exploration, moments of cultural discovery, and well-deserved rest, making it a memorable part of your desert adventure.
Day 04: Ouzina Desert - Jdaid - Merzouga Dunes
At the start of the day, we ride from the Ouzina dunes to the Erg Chebbi dunes, passing by Jdaid village, Tijjakht Mountain, and the old village of Taous. Along the way, we visit a barytine mine and explore ancient rock carvings. We take a lunch break in Mouderrasse before continuing across the desert. The day comes to a close with a sunset in Erg Chebbi
Day 05: Merzouga Desert - Merzouga Desert
As this is the final day of our 5 Days Desert Quad Safari, we dedicate it to exploring the Merzouga area. We begin with a one-hour ride through the Erg Chebbi dunes before heading east toward the unique Begaa Mountain. From there, we continue to Erg Znigui to visit an old mine, a place full of history. For lunch, we stop in Khamlia village, where we’ll visit a local house known for its traditional Gnawa music. After a relaxing meal, we return to Erg Chebbi and end the day by watching the sun set over the dunes.
